Educational Academy

Sensei Charity C.I.O Educational Academy will offer a full-time educational place of excellence.

The centre’s school day will commence at 9am and finish at 3pm every day for KS4 & KS5 pupils, who have been traumatised by severe bullying or other events or circumstances and cannot attend mainstream school.

Subjects: Qualifications

[1] English: GCSE or FS level.

[2] Mathematics: GCSE or FS level.

[3] Film/Media: NVQ level.

[4] Animation: NVQ level

[5] Music: NVQ level.

[6] Sound Recording Engineering: NVQ level.

[7] PSHE:

[9] Additional Educational Subjects: GCSE- FS or NVQ level

Tuition

Core Subjects:

[1] English Language: GCSE or FS level.

[2] English Literature: GCSE or FS level.

[3] Mathematics: GCSE or FS level.

We will provide these core subjects to the accredited level. In addition, we will provide

[6] Additional Academic Studies: Although we mainly specialise in arts and media-based studies, we will be offering an extra service for students who are not that way inclined and would like to study other academic subjects.

ie; History, Geography, RE, etc. With respect to these subjects we will provide education to the accredited level.

Please Note: We will not be in a position to provide tutoring in Chemistry or Biology.

[7] Distance Learning will offer all of the educational services mentioned above. It is our intention to have a bespoke and secure facility, putting the student’s safety as a priority.

[8] Sensei Charity C.I.O. will work closely with local schools and education bodies to ensure the educational standard is of the highest quality.

Due to the fact that a lot of our students will have suffered from severe bullying or other traumatic incidents, we will work with the premise that the student’s safety will be our priority, therefore a trained-counsellors will be employed during the prescribed hours.

[9] Sensei Charity C.I.O will also provide an emergency out-of-hours counselling service for both Academy and Distance Learning students.

[10] Sensei Charity C.I.O. welcome ISI and Ofsted inspection teams.

Film & Media Production

One-to-one or small group mentoring in Film and Media production, gaining NVQ qualifications.

We will encourage artistic and technical flair and provide professional hands on advice and guidance.

Music Recording Production

One-to-one or small group mentoring in music production, gaining NVQ qualifications.

We will encourage artistic and technical flair and provide professional hands on advice and guidance.

Musical Instrument & Vocal Training

One-to-one or small group tuition in various instruments, gaining NVQ qualifications in partnership with the long established and highly regarded Northern School of Music. Vocal tuition will also be included if required.

Art

One-to-one or small group mentoring by a professional artist and cartoonists, gaining NVQ qualifications.

We will encourage artistic and technical flair and provide professional hands-on advice and guidance.

Graphic Design

One-to-one or small group mentoring, by a professional Graphic Designer gaining NVQ qualifications.

We will encourage artistic and technical flair and provide professional hands-on advice and guidance.

Animation

One-to-one or small group mentoring, by a professional Graphic Designer gaining NVQ qualifications.

We will encourage artistic and technical flair and provide professional hands-on advice and guidance.

Play Video

Creative Writing

One-to-one or small group mentoring in creative writing, for both screen and radio.

We will encourage artistic and technical flair and provide professional hands-on advice and guidance.

Internet Radio

One-to-one or small group mentoring in working and running an Internet Radio Station.

We will encourage artistic and technical flair and provide professional hands-on advice and guidance.

Internet TV

One-to-one or small group mentoring in working and running an Internet TV station.

We will encourage artistic and technical flair and provide professional hands-on advice and guidance.

Distance Learning

Our state-of-the-art Distance Learning facility will have two important functions.

Home Tuition:

Should the student be in a situation where they are unable to physically attend the educational hub, Sensei Charity C.I.O Education Academy will be in a position to continue educating the student via its state-of-the-art virtual classroom. This will enable the student to be part of the lesson and will be able to interact with the lecturer and other students

In a combined ethos, both Sensei Charity C.I.O and Wannabe Enterprises C.I.C feel that if they can embrace those who have become isolated, by offering them opportunity to join a group from the safety of their own environment, it may improve their self-esteem and eventually give them the confidence return to mainstream education.

The added advantage of this service is that students who may feel isolated, will have the chance to talk to and meet other like-minded people, which in turn could form either working relationships or friendships.

Loneliness can carry its own problems. Hopefully our innovative educational approach will allow students to be involved, even from a distance.

We will also give our students who are involved in the distance learning aspect, the choice of whether or not, to be visible to the rest of the students on the large monitor.

With respect to the distance learning all students irrespective of them working from home or whether they will be visible to the other students, will be expected to be dressed accordingly, in daytime attire, and not sat at a computer in their bedroom in their pyjamas.

Due to the fact that the distance student may wish to ask some after lesson questions, a period will be set out for one-on-one time with the lecturer once the lessons are over.

We are conscious of both the security and the vulnerability of some of our students. We will ensure that our educational system meets the required criteria therefore all lessons will be recorded for security and educational reasons.

Educational Partnerships

We will be forming partnerships with other media facilities throughout the UK and Northern Ireland, allowing Sensei Charity C.I.O and its media partner Wannabe Enterprises C.I.C. to offer a fantastic service, via our Educational Academy, irrespective of distance.

This will be stage two of our project, as we wish to ensure that our Educational Academy is fully functional before branching out.

Partnerships Projects

Students working as part of a team or on their own projects, will be encouraged to both artistically and technically express themselves.

They will also be encouraged to work as a team with other students, inside of the academy, as well as possibly forming a working relationship with other students via our Distance Learning facility.

In respect to work experience, the students will be once again encouraged to work as part of the team involved in the production of professional productions, involving Animation, Film, Music recording etc.
